Today i got my hands on a new remote keyboard for Windows Media Center 2005.  a few interesting peices of note. 1: its fully infrared. i though, when reading about it, that there was a kind of a USB Wireless dongle thing, like most Wireless Keyboards, and that the Remote stuff was used over IR, but the whole thing works over IR. in some cases this is really cool with up to 30 feet of range, but also can be annoying with a cluttered desktop like mine. 2: its not too comfortable for typing ...

Ok. this is a cool reason to buy a new Video card. ATI have a new technology that will allow you to encode video using your graphics cards GPU. Very sweet idea. Still early days (no audio, no video res changing) but it could potentially be very cool. and its fast! 5X Fast. check out this article, and see for your self!

One word “Holy Crap” (well, 2). Check out the HTC Muse. this is one really cool looking phone. Its has, wait for it, 4Gb NAND storage, 64mb ROM, 64mb RAM, 416Mz processor, and some other features. This is really nice! i want one of these!

I went looking for some code for a C# FTP client (trying some automation of my own for uploading podcasts, more on that eventually) and i found on the front of CodeProject a DNS Compoent for C#. This could be handy for a few things, so i though i would post it here. But back to what i was acutally looking for: an FTP client library in C#. Very cool stuff. now i hopefully can make my life easer! :)

Ok. i have been in sligo all weekend, and now im back, i still have a day and a half left to do stuff! just installing Visual Studio 2005 RTM on my machine from the MSDN now, which is cool. Going to install SQL Server 2005 too. I got a new hard drive in my workstation (120Gb) and i have managed to use 50Gb even though i wasent here (media center.. need i say more?). So, hopefully tomorrow i will be back to normal operation... but then again, maybe not...

Well, its actually a good thing, even though the title sounds bad. i had a full format of my machine a couple of weeks ago, which left me with a nice clean 120Gb hdd (well, 112Gb after install of stuff). I currently have 11Gb free, and im off for the weekend. my guess is that by the time i come back on Sunday night, my drive space will again be gone! Argh! :) Probably the last post for a few days, Talk to you Sunday or Monday! Have a good weekend! :)

Ok, check out MVSpot. it has a load of music videos (a lot of which are WMV format) available for you to put on your site. very cool stuff, and i think you could (in theory) download them to your Pocket PC or Portable Media Center. Very cool stuff!

Well, AMD seems to be the answer! GamePC has a review and benchmark tests of the New Xeon Dual Core (Paxville). they test the dual xeon with dual cores agenst a dual opteron with dual cores, and the opteron wins, hands down! witch makes me happy i decided to have dual core dual opterons in my new workstation!

Check out this Engadget article showing info about Intels new Ruby Concept. Its a mix between a Pocket PC and a Table PC. its a little bigger then a PPC, got 8 hours battery life, runs a full copy of Windows XP Table PC Edition, and has a QWERTY keyboard. very cool concept! i want!

Ok, this i like! Apple have come out with the new PowerMac G5 Quad which is a dual proc, dual core system, with upto 16Gb ram, 1Tb hdd, and can hold upto 4 PCI Express Graphics cards. Not only that, but each card can power the 30" Cinema Display! Thats a lot of screen real estate! And also, the new PowerBooks are out too. they have better resolution, and i dont know what else just yet.
